Brazil’s Air Force files: pilots and controllers logged 18 UFO reports in 2025
Records released through Brazil’s National Archive include a Londrina control-tower operator who filmed a white object that kept vanishing and reappearing.

Brazilian Air Force (FAB) documents released through the country’s National Archive (Arquivo Nacional) show that pilots, air traffic controllers and other aviation professionals filed at least 18 UFO reports in 2025, CNN Brasil reported on August 12. Most came in November and December.
By state, Paraná had five, all from the city of Londrina. Ceará had four; Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro two each; and Alagoas and Mato Grosso one each. One report had no location.
The Londrina tower reports
On November 23, 2025, a control-tower operator at Londrina’s airport reported a round white object that at first looked like an aircraft but kept vanishing and reappearing, with lights lasting a few minutes. The file confirms the operator filmed it, but the video is not in the archive. In December, the operator described the sightings as recurring.
Another report came from the cockpit. On September 1, 2025, near Guarulhos airport in São Paulo, a LATAM captain described two or three bright balls of light — white, red and yellow — moving irregularly, and reported dry turbulence three times over about 30 minutes.
What the Air Force says
The FAB told CNN Brasil that it “does not carry out studies or analyses” of the reports. It catalogues them and sends them to the National Archive, where they are open to the public. Records from 1952 to 2025 have now been transferred. LATAM said its crews are trained to report any unusual event to air traffic control immediately.
None of the files claims the objects were extraterrestrial, and because the Air Force doesn’t investigate them, none of them reaches a conclusion either. Lights that appear and disappear over an airport can have ordinary causes, such as aircraft turning their landing lights toward or away from an observer, drones or satellites. Without the video, the Londrina reports can’t be checked. Still, the files show that Brazilian aviation staff keep reporting what they can’t identify.
