This brief Central Command video, published in the fourth PURSUE release in July 2026, comes from an infrared sensor on a U.S. military platform in the Middle East in 2023. Of its ten seconds, only about two contain anything. The record quotes no account from the person who filed it, and parts of it are redacted.

The two-second event

The first five seconds are blank. Then, in the sixth and seventh seconds, two patches pass through the field of view at almost the same moment, moving in roughly opposite directions. The first comes in from the bottom right and leaves through the top edge. The second, which AARO describes as relatively smaller, enters from the top and exits through the bottom. The last few seconds are blank again.

What the record allows

Opposite paths on screen do not necessarily mean the objects were moving in opposite directions in the sky; the camera’s own motion, the objects’ distances and the angle of view all shape what appears. The description gives none of those, and nothing about size, range, speed or heat. AARO reaches no conclusion, and the case remains unresolved. “Area of contrast” is AARO’s deliberately neutral phrase for anything that stands out from the background in a sensor image; on an infrared camera that usually means something warmer or cooler than its surroundings.

The official description

From war.gov/UFO, released July 10, 2026, quoted in full

The United States Central Command submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) consisting of 10 seconds of video footage from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in 2023.

The summary above is our own; the official description is the government’s, from war.gov/UFO. The Pentagon calls these unresolved cases — publishing a file does not mean it shows anything anomalous.
