This clip from the first PURSUE release runs one minute 59 seconds, long for the INDOPACOM videos in that set. It was recorded in 2023, and the collection’s index places it in Japan, though the release does not say where in or around the country, or what platform carried the infrared sensor. No one involved provided a written or verbal account.

Three objects that hold their spacing

For the full length of the clip, the sensor follows three separate patches of contrast and keeps them near the middle of the picture. AARO’s description makes one observation that matters: the three appear to stay in the same position and orientation relative to each other throughout. It records no change in that arrangement, no other objects and no change of sensor mode.

What fixed spacing does and doesn’t mean

A constant arrangement over two minutes means the three shared the same apparent motion as seen from the sensor. It does not by itself show whether they were linked, how far apart they were, or how far from the camera, since a single infrared view gives no depth. AARO’s wording is careful — the three only “appear” to keep their arrangement — and the office stresses that its description is not an analytical judgment. The case is unresolved. Another INDOPACOM clip from the same release, DOW-UAP-PR046, shows a single object with a distinctive shape.

The official description

From war.gov/UFO, released May 8, 2026, quoted in full

The United States Indo-Pacific Command submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) consisting of one minute and 59 seconds of video footage from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in 2023. The reporter did not provide any oral or written description of the observation.

Video Description: 00:00-01:59: The sensor tracks three distinct areas of contrast, maintaining their positions generally within the center of the frame. The areas of contrast appear to maintain a fixed position and orientation relative to one another.

The summary above is our own; the official description is the government’s, from war.gov/UFO. The Pentagon calls these unresolved cases — publishing a file does not mean it shows anything anomalous.
