PENTAGON UFO FILE · IMAGE · FBI-UAP-D014Digital Rendering, Narrative Statement 1-1, Western United States Event, 2023
This picture is the first of three digital renderings the FBI made in 2026, at the Pentagon’s request, from the written account of Witness 1, one of several federal law enforcement special agents who reported lights over two days in October 2023 near a sensitive site in the western United States. The account itself is DOW-UAP-D079; the other two renderings are FBI-UAP-D015 and FBI-UAP-D021. The release does not say which moment of the narrative each image shows.
What Witness 1 described
On the first night this agent saw nothing, though other teams reported lights moving in groups far off. On the second, around dusk, a large glowing circle with a swirling pattern like bright lava appeared beside a hill face, estimated at twenty feet or more across and visible for a minute or two. Later, twice, an orange light flared above a distant hill as three red lights flew away from it, each time with a flash beyond the horizon.
Hours afterward, on the road, what looked like a car with mismatched taillights, one round and one square, left the road, seemed to hover without raising dust, then rose away as a dark shape. Some time later the agent says what looked like the same object drifted past, partly see-through, “like looking at something through water.”
How to read a rendering
A rendering is an artist’s reconstruction of what a witness remembers, made more than two years after the events; it is not evidence of what was there. The narrative offers no explanation for any of it.
The official description
From war.gov/UFO, released June 12, 2026, quoted in full
This image is an artistic interpretation of a reported incident near a sensitive national security site in the western United States involving unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) over a period of two days in October 2023. This image is based upon a first-hand description provided by a federal law enforcement special agent, as described in DOW-UAP-D079. The Federal Bureau of Investigation prepared this digital rendering at the request of the Department of War in 2026.
