PENTAGON UFO FILE · DOCUMENT65 HS1-101634279 100-DE-26505
This FBI file began with a letter to the White House. In November 1957 Wladyslaw Krasuski, a man living in Detroit, wrote to Robert Cutler, special assistant to President Eisenhower, saying he might have information about “the rocket in Texas” he had heard about on a Polish radio program. FBI headquarters told the Detroit office to interview him at once.
Krasuski’s story
He described an episode from 1944, when he was working on a road crew of Russian, French and Polish prisoners under German supervision. Near a guarded, otherwise deserted area, a tractor engine stalled while a strange noise was heard, then started normally once the noise stopped. Later he secretly watched a circular enclosure with a high tarpaulin-type wall, from which a round vehicle rose slowly straight up, cleared the wall, then moved sideways out of view. He described a dark gray top and bottom with a fast-moving middle band that blurred like a propeller, and thick metal cables running between the enclosure and a small concrete structure. He said that after the war the structures were gone and the site was under water.
How the FBI handled it
The interviewing agents noted no sign of irrational or abnormal behavior, and routine record checks turned up only credit inquiries confirming his address and job. The only fellow worker he could name had presumably gone back to Poland. The file records his account; it contains no verification of it. Parts of the scan are redacted or badly degraded.
