Mission Report, Middle East, 2025

Department of WarIncident: 2025Middle East176 KBPartly redacted

This mission report (MISREP) accompanies an infrared video of almost five minutes in the release, DOW-UAP-PR133. It covers a sortie by the 11th Attack Squadron, 432nd Air Expeditionary Wing, under Operation Inherent Resolve. The background section says the mission supported counter-smuggling, force protection and operations against ISIS; the location, aircraft type and sensor are redacted.

What the report says

The aircraft departed at 1953Z on October 28, 2025, and was on station by 0025Z the next day. From 0141Z to 0150Z on October 29, while the sensor was on its target, an operator saw a UAP on the feed. The operator said it “looked like a white round orbit,” wording the form keeps as written, and the crew observed it moving as fast as 500 mph before losing it near a redacted location. The form ends: “There is no additional information to be provided at this time.”

What the form leaves out

Most structured fields are blank or redacted. The UAP is listed as solid, with no effects on people, and the observer was an airman first class. The only altitude given, about 22,500 feet, is the reporting aircraft’s own. There is no estimate of the object’s size, altitude or direction, and the observer’s assessment is withheld. The weather block records no impact on the mission. The speed is an estimate recorded by the crew, and the form does not say how it was derived.

The official description

From war.gov/UFO, released September 18, 2026, quoted in full

This document is a Mission Report (MISREP), a standardized reporting form the U.S. military uses to record the circumstances surrounding its operations. U.S. military services often use MISREPs to report unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). The GENTEXT, or “general text” section of these reports often contains important qualitative, contextual information, distinguishing it from the more quantitative, or numerical, data found elsewhere in the report. This mission report accompanies video footage derived from an infrared system aboard a U.S. military platform in 2025 (DOW-UAP-PR133).

A U.S. military operator reported observing UAP, describing it as “look[ing] like a white round orbit… moving as fast as 500 miles per hour.”

All descriptive and estimative language contained in this report reflects the reporter’s subjective interpretation at the time of the event. Such characterizations should not be interpreted as a conclusive indication of the presence or absence of any intrinsic object features or performance characteristics.

The summary above is our own, written from the file itself; the official description is the government’s, from war.gov/UFO. The Pentagon calls these unresolved cases — publishing a file does not mean it shows anything anomalous.
