Of the five Pacific Ocean clips from one 2019 event, this one and DOW-UAP-PR127 differ from the rest. Instead of filming a sensor screen, a U.S. service member used a handheld device to record the scene directly, in low light. The Navy’s UAP Task Force passed the set to AARO in 2022, and the release says all five were captured at the same time.

Several lights, not one

This clip has the most going on. It opens with the camera bringing two apparent light sources in from the top left and focusing on them. Through most of the first minute the camera pans, and several lights move in and out of the frame as it does. From about 0:54 it zooms in on a light in the lower left quarter and centers it, then zooms out and keeps panning, catching several lights repeatedly until the clip ends at 2 minutes 32 seconds.

What low light does to a recording

AARO notes that the poor light affects picture quality. When a handheld camera pans across a dark scene, much of the lights’ apparent movement in the frame comes from the camera itself, which makes it hard to judge how the lights moved. The release does not say how many lights there were, how far away they were or what they might be, and the clip was digitally altered before it was reported. The case is unresolved. The sensor-screen recordings of the same event begin with DOW-UAP-PR123.

The official description

From war.gov/UFO, released August 7, 2026, quoted in full

The United States Navy Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF) transferred this media to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in 2022. The video contains 2 minutes and 32 seconds of footage captured via hand-held recording device by a U.S. military service member in 2019. Low-light conditions at the time of capture influence the overall visual quality of the footage. The footage contained within DOW-UAP-PR123 through DOW-UAP-PR127 was captured contemporaneously. This media was digitally altered before being reported to AARO, and is presented as it was received.

Video description:

00:00-00:08: The camera pans against the background, bringing two apparent light sources into frame from the top left corner. The recording device focuses on the light sources, keeping them generally within the center of the frame.

00:09-00:53: The camera pans against the background. As the camera pans, it repeatedly brings several apparent light sources into and out of the frame.

00:54-01:23: The sensor zooms in on the light source in the lower left quarter of the frame, focusing to bring it into the center of the field-of-view.

01:24-02:32: The sensor zooms out and continues to pan to track apparent light sources. As the camera pans, it repeatedly brings several apparent light sources into and out of the frame.
