PENTAGON UFO FILE · VIDEO · DOW-UAP-PR140Unresolved UAP Report, Middle East, 2022
This video, just under two minutes long, is one of two clips U.S. Central Command sent to AARO from a single 2022 report; its companion is DOW-UAP-PR141. The release gives no place more precise than the Middle East (the linked mission report is filed under Iraq), and the platform is not identified.
Switching between two kinds of camera
What sets this clip apart is how often the operator changes sensor mode. The system carries both an electro-optical camera, which sees visible light much as an ordinary video camera does, and an infrared one, which shows differences in heat. After a single early pass of the object down through the frame, the operator picks it up again at about 0:16 and follows it, then alternates: visible light around 0:27, when the object slips out at the left edge; infrared from 0:32; visible light from 0:46; infrared again from 1:13; and visible light for the closing seconds. Each switch offers another look at the same target in a different part of the spectrum.
What the report adds, and a discrepancy
The mission report, DOW-UAP-D109, is summarized here as describing an object moving at speeds that varied between 80 and 180 mph. However, the collection’s own summary of D109 describes something else: “six small spherical objects” and a different speed, in wording almost identical to the summary of a later report, DOW-UAP-D108. The release does not explain the mismatch, none of the figures is a measured value, and the case remains unresolved.
The official description
From war.gov/UFO, released September 18, 2026, quoted in full
The United States Central Command submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) consisting of 1 minute and 47 seconds of video footage from an electro-optical and infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in 2022. An accompanying mission report, DOW-UAP-D109, described the UAP as “traveling at various speeds between 80-180 miles per hour.”
Video Description: 00:00-00:05: No content. 00:06-00:08: An area of contrast transits the sensor field-of-view, entering from the top of the frame and exiting from the bottom. 00:09-00:15: No content. 00:16-00:26: The sensor pans to track the area of contrast, keeping it generally centered within the frame. 00:27-00:31: The sensor switches to electro-optical mode, and the object moves out of the sensor field-of-view from the left edge of the frame. 00:32-00:45: The sensor switches to infrared mode and pans to track the area of contrast, keeping it generally within the center of the frame. 00:46-01:10: The sensor switches to electro-optical mode and pans to track the area of contrast. 01:11-01:12: No content. 01:13-01:42: The sensor switches to infrared mode and pans to track the area of contrast. 01:43-01:47: The sensor switches to electro-optical mode and pans to track the area of contrast.
