FBI Photo B019

FBIIncident: Late 2025Western United States126 KBPartly redacted

This still belongs to the FBI’s B series, images from a U.S. military system, set in the western United States in 2025 that the Bureau forwarded to AARO because the operator could not tell what was being tracked. In this frame the object is reduced almost to nothing.

A target a few pixels wide

AARO describes it as a few dark pixels clumped together into an object, positioned at the exact center of the crosshair reticle. The rest of the frame is grainy monochrome texture, with no background features mentioned. A pixel is the smallest dot a digital image is made of, so a target described this way carries almost no detail about shape, structure or surface.

Most other frames in the series show a more definite round dot, often off-center, as in B001. The next two frames, B020 and B021, are described as showing one or two small dark objects just above and to the right of center — AARO gives the count as “one to two.”

What can be concluded

Very little from the image alone. A dark point at the limit of a sensor’s resolution carries too little detail to identify, and the release offers no candidate. The image was redacted before submission, came without a mission report, and has a wrong on-screen date because the clock was not set. AARO’s narrative is description, not a finding.

The official description

From war.gov/UFO, released May 8, 2026, quoted in full

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon (UAP) to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) consisting of a still image derived from a U.S. military system in 2025. The original imagery was altered with redactions before being submitted to AARO. An accompanying mission report was not provided. The operator reported that they were unable to positively identify the UAP. The date in the image is incorrect due to system date/time not being set.

Narrative Description: The monochrome image displays a grainy texture with a central crosshair reticle. A small cluster of dark pixels, forming an object, is visible at the exact center of the reticle. This narrative description is provided for informational purposes only. Readers should not interpret any part of this description as reflecting an analytical judgment, investigative conclusion, or factual determination regarding the described event’s validity, nature, or significance.

The summary above is our own; the official description is the government’s, from war.gov/UFO. The Pentagon calls these unresolved cases — publishing a file does not mean it shows anything anomalous.
