OFFICIAL VIDEO · GREECEThe Greece 2024 UAP Video
This 65-second clip was among the videos the Pentagon published on May 8, 2026, in its first release of UFO and UAP files at war.gov/ufo. The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) lists it as DOW-UAP-PR28, an ‘Unresolved UAP Report’ from Greece dated January 2024. U.S. Central Command submitted it, and AARO says it was captured ‘via multiple sensor modalities aboard a U.S. military platform’.
For the first ten seconds the screen is split, with electro-optical footage on the right and short-wave infrared (SWIR) on the left. At four seconds a spot of contrast appears in the center of the right-hand image. At ten seconds the display switches to a full-screen SWIR view, and the spot stays roughly centered. By 55 seconds AARO likens it to ‘an inverted teardrop with a vertically linear trailing mass suspended below’.
At 56 seconds the operator switches to the visible spectrum and the object is lost against the background. Switching back to SWIR in ‘Black-Hot’ mode for the final seconds does not find it again. According to AARO, an accompanying mission report described the object as ‘diamond-shaped’ and moving at approximately 434 knots, about 500 mph, and the observer reported it could be detected only with the SWIR sensor.
AARO attaches the same caution to every description in the release: it is ‘provided for informational purposes only’ and is not ‘an analytical judgment, investigative conclusion, or factual determination’. The Pentagon described the material in the first release as ‘unresolved cases, meaning the government is unable to make a definitive determination’. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said ‘it’s time the American people see it for themselves’.
No official explanation for this object has been published. The clip is notable because the object was reportedly invisible to the visible-light camera, which makes the case a sensor puzzle in its own right. It also shows how little data many official reports contain: about a minute of footage, a speed estimate and a short written description.
