PENTAGON UFO FILE · VIDEO · DOW-UAP-PR105Unresolved UAP Report, East China Sea, 2025
At five minutes, this is one of the longer clips U.S. Indo-Pacific Command passed to AARO. It was recorded in 2025 over the East China Sea, the waters bounded by China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan’s southern islands, and appeared in the fourth PURSUE release. The platform and exact date are withheld and no written report is published with it.
How the five minutes break down
Only about the first two minutes contain the object. The operator pans to follow a patch of contrast and keep it centered. At about 0:15 the picture is briefly overlaid with black rectangles as the sensor adjusts. Through the next stretch, parts of the contrast repeatedly blend into the background and become hard to pick out.
From 1:35 the operator zooms in and pans right to left, and the object repeatedly slips out on the right. From 2:06 to the end, close to three minutes, the sensor zooms in and out and sweeps the background without finding anything.
Reading it
The long empty search at the end is part of the record: AARO marks it as showing no content, so it documents the track being lost rather than anything the object did. The black rectangles appear while the sensor adjusts, and AARO does not connect them to the object. The release gives no range, size, speed or explanation, describes the case as unresolved and notes that its summary is not an analytical judgment. Other East China Sea footage includes DOW-UAP-PR046.
The official description
From war.gov/UFO, released July 10, 2026, quoted in full
The United States Indo-Pacific Command submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) consisting of 5 minutes of video footage from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in 2025.
Video Description: 00:01-00:14: The sensor pans to track an area of contrast, keeping it generally centered within the center of the frame. 00:15-00:19: The sensor adjusts, and the image is momentarily overlaid with black rectangular areas. 00:20-1:34: The sensor pans to track an area of contrast, keeping it generally centered within the center of the frame. Portions of the area of contrast intermittently lose distinctiveness against the background throughout this segment. 01:35-02:05: The sensor zooms in, panning from right to left to track the area of contrast. The area of contrast exits the scene from the right edge of the frame several times. 02:06-04:59: The sensor zooms out and in several times, and pans the field-of-view against the background. No content.
