FD-1057-02, Northeastern United States, 2024

This FD-1057, the FBI’s form for logging investigative activity, is the starting point for a cluster of northeastern U.S. records. It documents agents’ October 2024 contact with a resident who had been referred to the Bureau in August 2024 by an FBI liaison contact, and who supplied several sets of video clips. The synopsis speaks of repeated sightings of “UxS or UAP appearing as plasma orbs” near his home; UxS is military shorthand for uncrewed systems, such as drones.

What the resident reported

According to the memo, he first saw the lights in the early morning hours of a November 2021 day and has documented them since, sometimes as close as 200 yards from the house. He described them hovering and moving, above the horizon and low down — among trees and in or near water. He said he had lived there since 2006 and seen nothing like it before, and that he would once have called himself a skeptic.

He told agents he had set up trail cameras and other sensors, and reported spikes in gamma radiation coinciding with sightings, plus odd effects on electronics and GPS data. He had tried to rule out ordinary explanations. A neighbor to the south had mentioned strange lights in the tree line, and he asked that the matter stay private.
