FD-302, “Multiple Red Lights,” 2026

FBIIncident: 2026Western United States2 MBPartly redacted

This FD-302 records a telephone interview with the second person present during the western U.S. sightings in FBI-UAP-D037. It covers the same night from his side, with its own timings and details, and the FBI made two renderings from it, starting with FBI-UAP-D041.

His version of the night

After waiting at a gate for heavy rain to ease, the pair drove north about 25 miles. At roughly 2200 he noticed a red light at the crest of the mountains to the west, which then began moving east. Reasoning from a ridge of about 5,000 feet and cloud near 7,000, he put it between those heights above the ground. After about 15 minutes, six to ten more lights appeared directly overhead, seemed to “sync up” with the first, and headed east-southeast; one dropped about 1,000 feet and vanished. By eye and through NODs (night-vision optics) each looked like a single red point, but when he squinted, each became three lights in a triangle or diamond that moved as one. The cloud was so thick no stars showed.

At about 2350 he saw two lights on or near the ground to the east, visible only through NODs, converge and stop 200–300 meters away. A fast streak, like a sparkler waved at night, crossed the edge of his vision and left a glow moving north through low ground before it faded.

The watch again

He confirms his companion’s analog watch was 25 minutes fast while every digital clock agreed, calls him “squared away,” and says the watch had been right all day. He reports no physical effects.

The official description

From war.gov/UFO, released August 7, 2026, quoted in full

This document is an FBI FD-302, a form the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) uses to record interviews. This FD-302 records a 2026 telephonic interview with a U.S. person, in which the interviewee describes two incidents potentially involving unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) in the western United States in 2026. A second individual who was present during the incidents at the time also provided an interview, recorded in this collection as “FBI-UAP-D037.” Two FBI digital renderings based upon the observers’ descriptions accompany this document, under the titles FBI-UAP-D041 and FBI-UAP-D042.

The summary above is our own, written from the file itself; the official description is the government’s, from war.gov/UFO. The Pentagon calls these unresolved cases — publishing a file does not mean it shows anything anomalous.
