PENTAGON UFO FILE · VIDEO · DOW-UAP-PR109Unresolved UAP Report, Eastern United States, 2015
This video reached AARO by an older route. The Navy’s Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF), which handled military UAP reports before AARO was set up, handed it over in 2022. The footage itself dates from 2015 and is placed in the eastern United States. AARO judges that it was likely recorded by an infrared sensor on a military platform, but cannot say so for certain.
A three-second event, shown twice
The first eight seconds are empty. Then, from about 0:09 to 0:11, a patch of contrast appears near the center and crosses from right to left, leaving at the upper left corner. The remaining ten seconds or so replay that moment more slowly. AARO states plainly that the media was digitally altered before the task force received it, and that it is published exactly as AARO got it.
Why the provenance matters
AARO adds that there were no formal rules for handling UAP records when this was reported. The release does not say who made the edits or what the unedited original showed. A crossing of about three seconds also gives little to measure: the release offers no range, size or speed, and no explanation, and it lists the case as unresolved. A much older task-force clip with a similar replay format is DOW-UAP-PR113.
