PENTAGON UFO FILE · VIDEO · DOW-UAP-PR112Unresolved UAP Report, Eastern United States, 2019
Most PURSUE videos come from military platforms, but this 20-second clip, submitted to AARO by the U.S. Navy, was recorded in 2019 by an infrared camera carried on a civilian aircraft. The release places it only in the eastern United States and does not identify the aircraft or say why it carried the sensor. Its written companion is a Range Fouler Debrief, DOW-UAP-D090.
What the observers said
A Range Fouler Debrief is the Navy’s form for logging something that intrudes into controlled airspace during operations or training. In this one, the observer wrote that the object’s flight characteristics were unlike anything seen in 28 years of service with the Air Force and Navy, and described it as “small” and moving in a straight line, opposite to the platform’s direction, at high speed. According to the collection’s summary of the debrief, five people reported the object, and others with as much experience or more were also unsure what it was.
The footage itself
The video is brief. For about 11 seconds a patch of contrast sits near the center. At around 0:12 the sensor changes zoom and display mode, the screen flashes white, and the object leaves the frame to the left; a further settings change flashes the screen again and nothing more is seen. Impressions of speed like the debrief’s are the observers’ judgments, parts of the record are redacted, and AARO stresses that its description is not an analytical finding. The case remains unresolved.
The official description
From war.gov/UFO, released July 10, 2026, quoted in full
The United States Navy submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) consisting of 20 seconds of video footage from an infrared sensor aboard a civilian aircraft in 2019. An accompanying Range Fouler Debrief, DOW-UAP-D090, describes the phenomenon as exhibiting “flight characteristics unlike anything [the observer] had seen in 28 years [of service] for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy. The report characterizes the phenomenon as “small” and “travelling in a straight line [in the] opposite direction at high speed.”
Video Description: 00:01-00:011: An area of contrast is visible near the center of the screen. 00:12-00:014: The sensor changes its level of zoom and display mode, flashing white before returning to normal function. The area of contrast exits the sensor field-of-view to the left side of the frame. 00:15-00:20: The sensor changes settings, causing the screen to flash white. No content.
