FD-1057-05, Northeastern United States, 2024

FBIIncident: November 2024Northeastern United States1 MBPartly redacted

After collecting videos and an interview, agents went to look at the ground itself. This FD-1057 records their site survey, in November 2024, of the northeastern U.S. property where the resident in FBI-UAP-D004 reported seeing lights over the previous three years. Its enclosure list runs to 24 items: photos of the tree line west of the home, pictures from a trail camera and from the back deck, and a photo log.

What the agents noted

The resident gave a tour meant to put the earlier recordings in context. Agents were led into woods about 200 yards from the house, where a trail camera faces west and, according to the resident, has captured activity. They noted signs barring hunting and fishing and a stone wall running south to north. A trail passes nearby but, the resident said, not through the area where the lights appear.

The agents also made an observation of their own: several homes to the east appeared to have a clear line of sight to the same area. They were shown a video of someone walking near the spot, and the resident offered to let them set up equipment for time-lapse recording and to arrange an evening visit, when activity was said to be most common.

What came next

The survey records layout, not causes. That evening visit is described in FBI-UAP-D007, where two agents logged lights themselves, and a December 2024 return survey is filed as D008.

The official description

From war.gov/UFO, released June 12, 2026, quoted in full

This document is an FBI FD-1057, a form the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) uses to record investigative activity. This FD-1057 documents a November 2024 site survey of a location where a U.S. person reported observing unidentified anomalous phenomena multiple times over the previous three years.

The subject matter described in files FBI-UAP-D004 through FBI-UAP-D008 and depicted in the video footage FBI-UAP-PR001 through FBI-UAP-PR003 corresponds to reports originating from the same general area in the northeastern United States.

The summary above is our own, written from the file itself; the official description is the government’s, from war.gov/UFO. The Pentagon calls these unresolved cases — publishing a file does not mean it shows anything anomalous.
