PENTAGON UFO FILE · VIDEO · DOW-UAP-PR031Unresolved UAP Report, Syria, October 2024
In October 2024, a U.S. military operator over Syria reported what the mission report DoW-UAP-D32 calls a “misshapen and uneven ball of white light,” and described a “light/glare halo effect” at the top of the full-motion video feed. Central Command forwarded the report to AARO with three very short clips from the same full-motion video, or FMV, camera. This is the first, at five seconds.
What this clip shows
All the action happens in the first second. A colorful, indistinct shape travels from right to left along the very top edge of the display and is gone. AARO gives no size, distance or speed, and does not attempt to say whether the shape was in the scene or produced inside the camera.
How it fits with the others
The reporter’s own words point toward glare, a halo of light at the edge of the picture, while also calling the source of the light unknown. The three clips each show the effect differently: this one as a fleeting multicolored smear, DOW-UAP-PR032 as a bright white-and-red half-oval, and DOW-UAP-PR033 as two faint orange overlays. FMV is military shorthand for the live, broadcast-quality video stream from an aircraft’s camera turret, as opposed to still imagery. AARO lists the event as unresolved and offers no explanation of its own.
The official description
From war.gov/UFO, released May 8, 2026, quoted in full
The United States Central Command submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon (UAP) to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) consisting of five seconds of video footage from a full-motion video (FMV) camera aboard a U.S. military platform in 2024. An accompanying mission report, DoW-UAP-D32, described the UAP as consisting of a “misshapen and uneven ball of white light,” and reported that a “light/glare halo effect” occurred at the top of the FMV feed.
