FD-1057-07, Northeastern United States, 2024

This is the last of five FBI electronic communications (FD-1057 forms) in the release about sightings in one part of the northeastern United States, and the only one that records a return visit. In December 2024 special agents went back in daylight to photograph and survey the spots where two of their colleagues had watched unidentified lights in November. Names, the exact dates and the location itself are blacked out.

What the agents found

The agents say they began walking a marked loop trail of roughly two miles at about 10:30 a.m., stepping off it to the west and north to get down to the water’s edge. From the northwest side, around 11:00, they had an unobstructed view of a property whose owner’s name is redacted. In both areas where activity had been seen in November, they report nothing unusual on the ground or at treetop height. One spot looked like a former fire pit, but it was covered in leaves and showed no sign of recent burning. The enclosures are a list of photographs taken on an FBI-issued phone; the images themselves are not in the text.

A note on drones

The survey’s one judgment concerns an ordinary explanation. Noting moderate tree cover and several homes within sight, the agents thought it unrealistic that anyone could fly a drone or other craft there at night without hitting branches. That rules on one idea, not on what the lights were. The earlier reports begin with FBI-UAP-D004, and the release ties the same area to videos starting with FBI-UAP-PR001.
