PENTAGON UFO FILE · VIDEO · LLE-UAP-PR003Unresolved UAP Report, Colorado, October 2023
This is the shortest of the Colorado local law enforcement smartphone clips reported to AARO in October 2023. It runs just under half a minute. Like the other Colorado reports, it comes with the same description of the phenomenon: silent, with red, blue and green flashing lights.
What happens in the clip
According to AARO’s summary, the officer zooms the phone camera in on an apparent light source and holds it for the whole clip, keeping it near the center but in the upper third of the frame. AARO blurred the lower half of the picture only during the first two seconds, to protect information about a private person or business that the frame would otherwise reveal. No other events are logged.
Why the zoom matters
The most relevant note is AARO’s warning that phone cameras rely on autofocus and automatic image processing that can make a distant subject’s shape and movement look different from reality, particularly at high magnification. This clip is defined by that magnification: the officer increases the zoom as it runs. The file offers no other analysis, and the report remains unresolved. For the longest Colorado clip see LLE-UAP-PR002, and for one with passing traffic see LLE-UAP-PR004.
The official description
From war.gov/UFO, released September 18, 2026, quoted in full
A local law enforcement officer submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office consisting of 27 seconds of video footage from a commercially available cellular device’s rear-facing camera in October 2023. The reporting officer described the phenomenon as “silent” and as featuring “red, blue, and green flashing lights.”
Video Description: In the first 2 seconds of this video, AARO digitally altered this footage by blurring the bottom half to obscure information whose release could be reasonably expected to affect the privacy or other protected interest of a U.S. person or commercial entity.
00:00-00:27: The camera increases its level of magnification and focuses on an apparent light source for the duration of the video, keeping it generally centered and within the top third of the frame.
AARO Comment: Cellular devices of the type used to capture this footage employ autofocus and other automated image-processing functions that may distort the apparent morphological and kinematic characteristics of distant subjects, particularly at high magnification.
